Immigrate to Brandon, MB through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)

 

Feb. 8, 2024, IRCC announced they intend to extend the deadline for communities to recommend RNIP candidates until July 31, 2024.  Once details are confirmed, information regarding the extension of the Brandon RNIP program will be posted on our website. 


Effective January 29, 2024, the Brandon RNIP program is not accepting Food Service Sector, Retail Sector, or Accommodation Sector(except for Accommodation positions in TEER 0 or TEER 1) RNIP applications.



Please Note: Long Haul Drivers are not eligible for Brandon RNIP as the work occurs outside of Brandon’s RNIP boundaries.


2024 Brandon RNIP Walk-In Service 
From 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm on the following dates only

  • March 7 and 21, 2024
  • April 4, 2024
  • May 2, 16 and 30, 2024
  • June 13 and 27, 2024
  • July 11 and 25, 2024

 

Walk-In Service is available on a first come first serve basis for RNIP applicants.  
Walk in service is the only means of speaking with RNIP staff in person for program applicants. 

Walk-in service is only available to the following individuals: 

  • People working on temporary status for a Brandon employer.
  • People on legal status in Canada and have a Brandon employer that is ready to make a job offer to them. 
  • People who have submitted a Brandon RNIP application.  
  • A Brandon employer wishing to discuss the Brandon RNIP program. 
    Employers can also email immigration@brandon.ca to schedule a meeting outside of walk in service.

 

Brandon is very excited to be participating in an immigration pilot that provides Brandon with the opportunity to work directly with employers and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to create a path to permanent residence for skilled Foreign Nationals who are able to fill local job vacancies and want to live in Brandon and the surrounding area. 


Brandon, MB is a welcoming community of just over 51,000 people located in the southwest corner of Manitoba, one hour from the USA and Saskatchewan borders. In the past decade, Brandon has successfully welcomed over 7,000 newcomers from all over the world.


As the second largest city in Manitoba, our full service city is home to two colleges, a university, a regional hospital, government offices and numerous businesses and services of all types and sizes. The community has a low crime rate, affordable housing, clean water, fresh air, free quality public education and health systems, and abundant recreational and cultural opportunities.


The city is fortunate to have Westman Immigrant Services, a community based charitable organization that assists immigrants by providing three core services; English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes, Settlement Services and Brandon Community Language Centre Interpreter services.

Brandon RNIP Process:

Apply for a qualifying job, receive job offer, complete a community questionnaire, interview with community panel, receive community recommendation, apply for permanent residence.


Candidate must meet all Canadian Federal Immigration criteria.
